These Terms help keep Rootwise compassionate, safe, and responsible for every community member.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Rootwise ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service immediately. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use means you accept the latest version.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your location) to use Rootwise. If you use the Service on behalf of another person, you confirm you have authority to do so and that all responsibilities here apply to you and that person.
3. Description of Service
Rootwise is an AI-assisted wellness guide powered by artificial intelligence, including large language models and image recognition technology. It shares educational information about gentle lifestyle support for mild symptoms and everyday goals. Rootwise is not a medical device, is not FDA-approved, and does not diagnose, treat, or replace healthcare professionals. All AI-generated content should be verified with a licensed provider.
4. No Medical Guarantees
We make no promise that any suggestion will achieve specific results. All suggestions are non-prescriptive and not guaranteed to achieve specific outcomes. The Service provides general information "as is" and may not apply to every user. Always confirm ideas with licensed healthcare providers.
4a. FDA Disclaimer
This app is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. It is not reviewed or approved by the FDA. Rootwise provides general wellness information for educational purposes only.
4b. HealthKit & Health Data
If you connect Apple HealthKit or Google Health Connect, you grant Rootwise permission to read health metrics (steps, sleep, heart rate, basal body temperature, weight, height, date of birth, biological sex) solely to personalize your wellness experience. This data is never used for advertising, sold to third parties, or shared with data brokers. You may disconnect health data access at any time through your device settings.
4c. Reproductive & Cycle Data
Menstrual cycle tracking features collect period dates, symptoms, fertility indicators, and related health data. This information is used exclusively to provide cycle predictions and personalized wellness guidance. We treat reproductive health data with heightened sensitivity and additional safeguards. You may delete all cycle data at any time from your account settings.
4d. AI-Generated Content
Content generated by Rootwise's AI is informational and educational. AI responses may contain errors or inaccuracies. You should not rely on AI-generated content as a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or psychological advice. Rootwise does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any AI-generated content.
4e. Subscriptions, Billing & Auto-Renewal
Rootwise offers auto-renewing in-app subscriptions (monthly and annual plans) that unlock premium features. The title, length, and price of each subscription are shown inside the app on the paywall screen before purchase, and in your App Store / Google Play receipt after purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at purchase confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price for the same period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and turn off auto-renewal at any time by going to your Apple ID Subscriptions (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on iOS) or Google Play Subscriptions (Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions on Android). Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. No refund is granted for the unused portion of any paid period, except where required by applicable law. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your Rootwise account or data; use the Account Deletion option in-app to remove your data.
5. User Responsibilities
Provide honest information if you choose to share preferences or watchouts. Use the Service respectfully, keep credentials private, and verify suggestions before trying them. You remain responsible for your decisions and wellbeing. Do not use Rootwise for emergency medical situations. If you experience a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. If you are in mental health crisis, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988).
6. Prohibited Uses
Do not misuse the Service by reverse-engineering, reselling, scraping, or interfering with its operation. Do not upload unlawful, discriminatory, or harmful content, and do not attempt unauthorized access to Rootwise systems or other user data.
7. Intellectual Property
All trademarks, logos, copy, illustrations, chat flows, and compiled data belong to Rootwise or its licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service. Reproduction requires prior written permission.
8. Content You Provide
When you submit inputs, you grant Rootwise a non-exclusive worldwide license to use that content solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Service, subject to our Privacy Policy. You remain responsible for the accuracy and legality of what you share.
9. Limitation of Liability
Rootwise, its affiliates, and team members are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. If a dispute arises, your sole remedy is to discontinue the Service.
10. No Warranty
The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
11. Dispute Resolution
We aim to resolve concerns through good-faith conversations. If a dispute persists, you agree to seek resolution through informal negotiations or, if mutually agreed, arbitration. Because Rootwise operates globally (EU, US, Israel, and beyond), mandatory consumer rights in your jurisdiction may override parts of this clause.
12. Account Deletion
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time through the account settings in the app or web interface. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Upon deletion, all personal data, health records, chat history, cycle data, and food logs are permanently removed from our systems.
